The shocking
murder of Suzan Tamim in Dubai |
 |
Lebanese artist
Suzan Tamim was found dead early this week from multiple stab
wounds in her apartment in Dubai. Her death is considered a
shocking mystery.
According to the
London daily Elaph, Suzan has been away from the spotlight for
almost 8 months now after leaving Cairo and deciding to live in
Al Jamira in the United Arab Emirates; however, the news of her
residence was kept a secret up until her death.
Dubai's community
has expressed horror at the attack, and the police refused to
comment, saying they would issue a statement once the
investigation was complete
In the beginning of her career she had faced many problems,
which were in the way of establishing her fame. Most of her
family problems were taking place instead of her art news in the
media. Ever since she graduated from “Studio Al Fan” (Art
Studio) in 1996 her problems with her first husband had started.
They both got a divorce and then she got married to producer
Adel Maatooq and she ran away to Egypt where there were lawsuit
filed against each other.
Suzan then moved to France and stayed there for some time where
she released an album in 2003 and it was called “Saken” (Lives)
and then decided to move to Cairo and live there. Despite the
fact that Suzan had many problems with her husband Adel Maatooq,
she was still married to him. News has it that when her husband
heard of her death he became delirious and he’ll be leaving to
Dubai to see his late wife for the last time.
The funeral of Suzan
Tamim was held in Beirut in khashokji mosque, several Lebanese
and arab artists attended the funeral.
